Soil Conditioner/ Feed Additive

Algamin Kelp Meal is a Norwegian Kelp, one of the richest known sources of at least 60 Minerals or Elements, 12 Vitamins and 21 Amino Acids.  It has been harvested, dried, processed, then blended and ground to a 14 mesh size.

When used as a soil conditioner, Algamin Kelp Meal will improve any deficiencies, thereby adding to the nutrition of grasses or grains used for animal feed, as well as improving nutritional values of other crops.  Incorporate it into potting soils, seed and transplant beds, as well as composting material.  Kelp Meal will add organic matter to your soil and help retain moisture. Its Calcium will enhance healthy root growth and new leaf/bud growth. Its Potassium will enable photosynthesis – necessary for robust health and sweet flavor – to proceed quickly and efficiently. Sulfur will allow animal feeds to have optimum growth, high oil content, and increased protein. Also, many insect pests are indicators of certain nutrient deficiencies in crops. If you are worried about insect pests, one of the best things you can do is improve the condition of your soil. The pests will not stay in or invade a nutrient-rich field, and the plants grown there can resist many pest-born diseases.

Algamin Kelp Meal is also feed grade, so it can be fed to all animals to improve their health and size. Many studies have been done that prove its many benefits. A small amount improves the utilization of standard feed mixes. Farmers can have healthier livestock, greater market value sooner, on less feed consumed. Soil Conditioner Directions:

General	1 cup / 100 sq ft ( 10 x 10)
Flowers and Shrubs	½ cup / 100 sq ft ( 10 x 10)
	Large shrubs: 1 lb per shrub worked into soil
	Bench: 1 tbsp / 12 sq ft (3 x 4)
	6 inch pot: a pinch. To plant or repot, use 1 tsp worked into soil
Large Trees	½ lb / 1 inch diameter ( 4 inch trunk = 2 lbs ) broadcast in drip line
Vegetables & general crops -	Hot beds /frames: 4 tbsp /18sq ft (3 x 6)
Greenhouses	Bench: 2 tbsp / 12 sq ft (3 x 4)
	Use 200 lbs / acre –  use spreader or broadcast by hand
Vegetable & Truck Gardens	200-300 lb / acre; side dress or spread on surface in early spring or late fall. Cultivate into top soil after plowing.
Pasture, Range & Paddocks	150-200 lb /acre  Apply fall or early spring
Farm Crops	Corn: cultivate into top soil, 200-300 lbs / acre; or side dress, 100 lbs / acre
	Wheat, rye, barley, oats: 200 lbs / acre, apply with drill
	Alfalfa, timothy: 200 lbs /acre, apply with drill
Fruit Trees	Peach, Pear, Apple: 2-4 lb / tree under drip line in early spring or late fall

Feeding Recommendations:

Livestock Feeding Programs:  If not already in your feed, add to grain 2% Kelp Meal (40 lb to a ton of grain). Either pre-mix or place on grain by hand. If a mineral or vitamin deficiency is known, feed up to 5%. Start young animals at 1%.

Horses	General : about 1 ½ oz daily
	Studs: 1 ½ -2 oz daily
	Brood mares: 1-2 oz daily, hand feed if possible
	Race Horses:  On track, - 1% of grain feed
Beef Cattle	2 lb/100 lb feed ration (40 lb / ton); free choice, 2 lb with 1 lb salt.
Range Cattle	Free choice at 2 lb / 1 lb cattle salt mixed
Dairy Cattle	Same as other cattle. If refused, add 1 part dried molasses to free choice mineral ration
Swine	2 lb / 100 lb feed ration (40 lb / ton)
Sheep – Goats	On pasture feed  give free choice 2 parts meal / 1 part salt mixed
Poultry	1% of total feed pre-mixed
Turkey	1-2% of total feed pre-mixed
Pets	Dogs: standard size, 1 tsp / day
	Cats: ¼ tsp /day
