She mounts insects on subtle backgrounds and presents them as framed art. She acquires the sustainably farmed insects – in this case the King Grasshopper – from around the world, rehydrates them and then painstakingly positions them for display. She has set this specimen with his colorful wings spread on a black and ivory double-matted wood frame that is slightly larger than 8"x10". The opening where the Grasshopper is displayed is 5" x 7". The King Grasshopper, Phymateus saxosus, comes from Madagascar. This particular species is about 3" tall with approximately a 4" wingspan.
